Through the SEO maze, a good resource in Periodic Table of SEO Ranking Factors

Technical side of the SEO is pretty complex, made even more so by the incessant updates from Google on their algorithms. We have had 20 Panda updates, 3 Penguin updates, an EMD update, and 2 ‘Top Heavy‘ updates, and four of them in the last two weeks itself.

It’s nearly impossible to keep a tab on all the updates and deciding on the strategy as a business owner or even as a marketing professional. All this requires a dedicate effort around SEO, which the SEO firms & professionals can afford to do. Hiring a “good” SEO professional is very difficult, in the sense that many of such professionals that I have met still resort to the seemingly gray tactics of Link-building, spamming, and playing around with a guarantee to get you to the top page rank for just some of the keywords. The time to results is typically 2-3 months, which makes it difficult to pick the good ones unless you have seen them at work yourself. One has to be really thorough with the Search Engine basics and at the same time keeping a constant tab on these algorithms to decide what’s the right thing to do.

So, I resort to going to the basics. Google has guidelines that are descriptive enough, but do not really help you in terms of what specifically you should eb doing on day to day basis. It primarily translated to “Be Good, don’t be evil”, but we know of a lot of grey that seems to succeed as well!

Then today, I found this brilliant representation of the SEO ranking factors, with a easy to remember arrangement. This is definitely helpful in keeping in mind the important factors at high level. Just sharing, it’s pretty useful!
